Air Transportation

Airports

San Francisco is served by two major airports:San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK). Both airports are approximately 30-35 minutes from the hotel. The San Jose Airport is also accessible for travelling to San Francisco; however this is not recommended because it is approximately 55 miles outside of the city of San Francisco. Flying into San Francisco International Airport or Oakland International Airport is recommended.

To obtain the maximum discounted fares, call TQ3Navigant at least 60 days prior to departure. Discounted fares are still available up to 15 days prior to departure.

Prior to contacting TQ3Navigant please gather the following information:

  • Desired dates of arrival and departure
  • Home city or originating airport
  • Approximate time of departure from the originating airport
  • Number of persons traveling
  • Method of payment
  • Your airline frequent flyer number(s)

Ground Transportation

Public Transportation

BART—Bay Area Rapid Transit is the San Francisco subway system. BART saves time, money, and hassle with traffic. It’s also more reliable than driving to the airport and more convenient when picking up visitors. BART takes you directly into San Francisco International Airport’s International Terminal where it’s a short walk to the International check-in counters. You can also take BART to Oakland Airport/Coliseum Station where convenient AirBART shuttles link to the airport every 15 minutes.

MUNI—The San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni) is the seventh-largest public transit system in the United States, as measured by ridership. The Muni provides transportation within the city of San Francisco. Its fleet of about 1,000 vehicles, over half of which are electric, consists of subway-surface light-rail vehicles (Metro streetcars), electric trolley buses, diesel buses, the world-famous cable cars, the only ones in the world still operating, and a unique collection of historic streetcars. The Muni has several stations near the hotel with frequent departure and arrival times. For more information, please visit: www.sfmuni.com or call (415) 673-6864. Fares range from $1.25 with free transfer for first 90 minutes and $3 for cable cars. Weekly passes are also available for $12.

Getting From The Airport To The Hotel

Bart Transportation—San Francisco International Airport

The BART Station at the airport is in the International Terminal.

There are two (2) options when taking BART from San Francisco International Airport to The Hyatt Regency San Francisco:

  1. Board the BART train at the airport in the International Terminal, take the Dublin-Pleasanton Train directly from the airport to the Embarcadero Station (which is steps from the hotel); the fare is $4.70.
    - OR -
  2. Board the BART train at the airport in the International Terminal, take the Millbrae Train ($1.50) and in Millbrae transfer to the Pittsburgh/Baypoint Train and take directly to the Embarcadero Station ($3.30), which is steps from the hotel. The total fare is $4.80.

From The Hyatt Regency San Francisco at the Embarcadero Station (steps from the hotel) you can take San Francisco International Airport Train directly to SFO (Fare $4.70) OR take the Millbrae Train to Millbrae Station (Fare $3.30) and transfer to an SFO Train (Fare $1.50). The total fare is $4.80.

Bart Transportation—Oakland International Airport

For transportation from Oakland International Airport to the Hyatt Regency San Francisco you may, at the center island, catch the Air BART Bus. A ticket has to be purchased prior to boarding the bus. There is a ticket machine at the island, the fare is $2.

The Air BART Bus will take you to the Coliseum BART Station.

At the BART Station purchase a ticket, the fare is $3.15 one-way. From the BART Station take one of the following trains to the Embarcadero Station: Millbrae Train, Daly City Train, SFO Airport Train, or Richmond Train and get off at 12th Street Oakland City Center and transfer to a Millbrae, Daly City or SFO Airport Train.

Bart Return Transportation

For transportation from The Hyatt Regency San Francisco to Oakland International Airport use the Embarcadero BART Station take either the Fremont or Dublin/Pleasanton Train to the Coliseum BART Station. The fare is $3.15.

Get off at the Coliseum BART Station and purchase a ticket for the Air BART Bus, $2.

The Air BART Bus will take you to the Oakland Airport.

Airport Transportation Shuttles—San Francisco International Airport to the Hyatt Regency San Francisco:

  1. Lorries Airport Shuttle—Shuttle boarding at San Francisco International Airport is directly outside the lower level baggage claim area. Current fare is $16. For additional information, contact Lorries Airport Shuttle at (415) 334-9000 or visit www.sfovan.com.
  2. The SFO Airporter—Shuttle boarding at San Francisco International Airport is directly outside the lower level baggage claim area. Current fare is $16. Please note that fares are subject to change. For additional information, contact SFO Airporter at (650) 624-0500.
  3. Taxi service is also available from San Francisco International Airport. The approximate fare is $40.

Return Transportation from the Hyatt Regency San Francisco to San Francisco International Airport:

  1. Lorries Airport Shuttle—Requires advance reservations through the Concierge. Plan to depart hotel 2½-3 hours prior to a domestic flight and 3-3 ½ hours prior to an international flight. Travel time takes 30-35 minutes. Current fare is $14. For additional information, please contact the Hotel Concierge at extension 51.
  2. Taxi service is also available from San Francisco International Airport. The approximate fare is $40.

Airport Transportation Shuttles—Oakland International Airport to the Hyatt Regency San Francisco

  1. Bay Porter—$25 fare, reservations not needed when travelling from airport; however reservations are needed when travelling from hotel. For additional information contact Bay Porter service at (415) 467-1800.
  2. Super Shuttle—$25 fare, reservations not needed when travelling from airport; however reservations are needed when travelling from hotel. For additional information contact Shuttle service at (415) 659-2547.

Return Transportation from the Hyatt Regency San Francisco to Oakland International Airport

  1. Bay Porter Shuttle—Requires advance reservations, contact the Bay Porter Service at (415) 467-1800.
  2. Super Shuttle—Requires advance reservations, contact the Super Shuttle Service at (415) 659-2547.

Car Rental

Parking can be expensive in downtown San Francisco and public transportation is highly recommended. Valet Parking is available at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco hotel for $38 per day.
