“40 Years of DNA Repair and Where Do We Go From Here?”
A lot has been accomplished in our field since EMS was founded 40 years ago. Excision repair had been discovered some years before that but almost everything else we know about DNA repair has been discovered in the last 40 year period. What are the biggest unsolved questions today? What will be the biggest growth areas in DNA repair in the next 10 years? Will the NIH put DNA repair on their road map? Can we capitalize on our basic science discoveries to help treat patients with DNA repair deficiencies? What about enhancing cancer treatments?
Come and contribute your thoughts about the future of our field at our DNA Repair SIG breakfast on Monday, October 26.
We will also go over some housekeeping business and put together a list of topics for potential symposia for next years meeting. I am sure we all agree that we would like to see a strong basic science track with DNA repair and related topics throughout the meeting so we should come up with a strong list to present to the Program Committee.
We hope to see a lot of you at the breakfast in St. Louis!
Welcome!
