The immediate Past-President and Past Past-President also shall serve on the Council for a one-year term. Fifteen additional Council members shall be elected for terms of three years each.

The Executive Board shall have and exercise the authority of the Council in the management of the Society between meetings of the Council. The Executive Board shall consist of the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past-President, Past Past-President, Secretary, Treasurer and two members of the Council. The two Council members shall be nominated by the President and elected for a one-year term by a majority of all members of the Council.

It is the responsibility of the Council to establish association policy, approve an integrated plan of program activity, raise and allocate necessary resources and oversee the Society's program of work and administration. Council reports to the members. Council meets twice during the annual meeting. The Executive Board meets multiple times during the annual meeting and again in a mid-year meeting. The Executive Board holds monthly teleconferences which may involve members of Council, Committees, Task Forces or other groups as deemed necessary.
